Responsibilities Forensic Engineer Our Forensic team is a highly educated and highly valued team of engineering experts. -We work with global insurance firms, and national and regionally based law firms to provide professional services on a large portfolio of complex and challenging forensic projects. - We are looking for a Civil Engineer with Forensics experience to join our West Coast team in one of the following offices: Los Angeles, Ontario, San Diego, San Francisco, or Petaluma. You will be involved in a wide variety of tasks, including forensic investigations of buildings/sites, code research, construction document review, failure analysis, scope of repair preparation, and report writing. These activities will generally be performed for insurance property claims, construction defect litigation matters, and property condition assessments. What you will be doing:

  • Conduct forensic field inspections into the cause and origin of incidents related to residential and commercial property damage claims and/or construction or design defect claims
  • Research failures attributed to the building design or construction to determine cause and origin of incident
  • Develop detailed plan for remediation of loss: scope, schedule, budget
  • Develop expert investigative reports with detailed findings and plans for remediation for senior management review and client presentation
  • Participate in business development activities and presentations, including regular contact with existing and prospective clients in the region
  • Ensure client satisfaction by meeting project on time and on budget expectations
  • Ensure all assignments are executed with technical proficiency, accuracy, and professionalism -What you bring to the table:
    • BS degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering field
    • Licensed Professional Civil Engineer (PE) in California
    • 4+ years of professional experience in the design, inspection, and assessment of residential and commercial building structures
    • Prior experience supporting property damage claim investigations
    • Strong knowledge of the residential (IRC), commercial (IBC) and existing (IEBC) I-codes
    • Demonstrated ability to perform complex tasks and handle competing and multiple priorities effectively
    • Proficiency with office software applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.)
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
    • Ability to carry and operate a 24-foot extension ladder unassisted, walk on elevated and slope surfaces and work in confined spaces
