Position Summary: The Senior Manager is responsible for managing a high paced, multi-shift GMP oligonucleotide production line. This role is responsible for developing managers and teams, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and learning by participating in the day to day management of the production process. The Senior Manager is responsible for ensuring that there is effective management of teams and processes by verifying manufacturing staff, documentation and practices consistently comply with company needs, procedures and external regulatory requirements. The Senior Manager is responsible for achievement of GMP manufacturing KPI's and revenue targets, ensuring support resources and functions meet the lines demand, continual quality improvement of processes, customer audit participation and implementation of cost savings initiatives. Collaboration with internal and matrixed support teams is essential to the success in this business leader position.Areas of Responsibility:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.Essential Functions: * Oversee management of the GMP manufacturing line, ensuring effective management and coaching of staff, scheduling of staff and manufacturing activities and compliance with company policies/procedures is consistently achieved* Provide technical expertise and leadership to team members, foster a culture of technical learning and professional development* Effectively communicate and coordinate with internal suppliers, production support managers and production managers to ensure the most efficient use of time and resources; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments* Ensuring adequate equipment is secured for current and forecasted production requirements* Ensure manufacturing priorities are completed by: * Effectively Overseeing management and teams* Communicating expectations to staff, leading meetings* Managing employee schedules and ensuring adequate staffing levels* Implementing corrections to malfunctions within processes* Working collaboratively with support teams to ensure maintenance, calibration, inventory, and materials planning activities are delivered to manufacturing needs* Review processes with management and ensure appropriate work instructions are in place as well as write and review manufacturing procedures and documents as needed* Effectively communicate with maintenance management to ensure production uptime metrics are achieved* Ensure audit findings from self-inspections, as well as CAPAs, for which you and your team are responsible, are resolved within the allowed time frame* Provide effective leadership through: * Communicating job expectations* Performance evaluations and goal setting* Active coaching and mentoring of team members; developing personal growth opportunities* Supplying technical expertise to team members* Enforce company policy and work with management and HR to address individual performance issues* Responsible for ensuring corrections to malfunctions within the manufacturing processes are executed through initiation of Deviation and Non-conformance reports and/or support tickets, as needed* Participate in quality review boards and oversee management of manufacturing CAPAs* Proactively interface with manufacturing groups and internal customers to identify and implement areas of continuous improvement* Execute on objectives and goals to support a positive, efficient and motivated team* Recruit team members and development of effective staffing strategies to support employee retention objectives* Oversee and verify training activities of management and ensure training compliance of all manufacturing staff meets objectives* Responsible for overseeing the safe use of hazardous chemicals in a manufacturing environment on a daily basis* Supply regular feedback to Leadership on team function, KPI's, instrumentation and processCA1QualificationsOther Skills, Abilities, and Competencies:* Professional presence and strong attention to detail* Proven leadership skills* Technical proficiency that enables effective supervision of the production process* Strong communication and problem solving abilitiesEducation/Experience/Licenses/Certifications:Requires a bachelor's degree, a minimum of 8 years of experience in a related field, and/or demonstration of ability to meet the requirements of a Senior GMP Manufacturing Manager, including previous experience managing managers or large teams and revenue streams. Experience with oligonucleotide chemistries and ISO 13485 manufacturing required.Technology/Equipment Skills:Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, and Excel. Use of a web browser.
