Job Description:

The Events & Community Manager is a high energy individual that will be the voice of the Company by actively engaging our Team Members and the community. This highly innovative thinker is responsible for the planning, promotion and execution of internal and external marketing, and sales events. The Events & Community Manager will plan and partner cross functionally with key stakeholders in the Company. This individual will execute all moving parts that compose successful events: exemplifying Friedman's values, connecting people within the community and providing quality experiences for our customers.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan, communicate and ensure successful execution of marketing events such as in-store and external events, community sponsorships, vendor sales events, clinics, and demos, partnering with key stakeholders
  • Source, purchase and maintain inventory of promotional goods, event materials, resources, and manage preferred vendor relations with excellent client relation skills for different facets of marketing
  • Concepting of events, growing ideas or current events and taking them further to established cornerstone events that the community thrives and depends on
  • Spearhead ideas and concepts that push engagement in the community, weaving pieces of the Company's history into current events while creating new ideas and concepts for the brand
  • Plan, promote and execute the Company's external and internal event calendars in coordination with the Marketing, Merchandising and Operations teams, ensuring alignment with the Company's objectives
  • Organize a critical path for each event, establishing individual steps of the process, from concept to completion
  • Prepare and present post-implementation review of each event which includes successes, opportunities, key learnings, ROI, attendee follow-up, etc.
  • Own a budget, negotiate contracts, and facilitate the appropriate approval process
  • Review and qualify new sponsorships based on the channel key objectiveQualifications:Education: Bachelor's Degree with a focus in communications, advertising, marketing, business, or PR and/or equivalent work experience.Experience: A minimum 4 years' experience in a retail event management, with heavy focus on project and contract management, logistical management. This position is 75% event focus and 25% community-based focus. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience with proven success in executing retail, corporate, or non-profits events.Required knowledge, ability, and technical skills

    • Proven knowledge and seamless execution of retail event marketing and strategies to boost community participation
    • Strategic-minded, creative, with the ability to work effectively and communicate with larger teams, vendors, and executives with the utmost professionalism and clarity
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to bring creative ideas to concept and execute in successful events
    • Experienced at developing a project plan and managing its many components to meet goals, deadlines, and budget
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, writing and proofing skills
    • Highly self-motivated contributor who is deadline focused and works well as an individual and within a team environment
    • Effective project management and time management skills that feed into planning and tracking of ongoing marketing campaigns and events
    • Strong strategic, creative, and critical thinking, bring ideas to fruition through events
    • Proven track record of creating compelling Company events that blend social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Google+, and more
    • Strong work ethic and extreme attention to detail
    • Adaptable with an ability to problem solve, prioritize, multi-task and troubleshoot effectively
    • Strong people management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and cross functionally
    • Must be proficient in MS Office Suite
