The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.Education/Experience:High School diploma or equivalent requiredGraduation from accredited Dental Assisting School preferred or 2 years on the job experienceLicenses and Certifications:Radiology licenseDental Board of CA accredited course of 8 hours Infection controlDental Board of CA accredited course in Dental Practice actCPR training currentLanguage Skills: Bilingual in English and Spanish, both written and verbal preferred.Areas of Responsibility:Patient Care:Exposes and processes dental radiographs (x-rays)Assists the dentist during a variety of examinations and treatment procedures: instrument transfer, dental procedure isolation techniques and preparation of dental materialsPrepares treatment rooms, instruments and cassettes for proceduresGreets and prepares patients for treatmentRecords medical and dental history and vital signs of patientsRecords visit information in the electronic patient record (Dentrix)Pours and trims study castsServes as an infection control officer, follows infection control protocols and sterilizes and disinfects instruments and equipmentHelps patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatmentProvides patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment proceduresDental Systems:Proficient with dental software programs including but not limited to Dentrix Enterprise, Guru, Dexis, and Iris Intraoral cameraDental Office:Performs tasks that require the use of a personal computerPerforms and keeps office records related to Sterilization and Equipment maintenance (daily, monthly, quarterly and yearly); Communicates and coordinates equipment repairs.Participates actively in staff meetingsCompliance:Conducts work in compliance with office policies and procedures, safety, OSHA, MSDS guidelines and the Dental Board of CA and COMDARequired Experience:Desired Skills:Strong customer service ethicGood communication skillsAbility to perform detailed work according to established formats and protocolsBenefits:Consistent work scheduleExtremely competitive benefits including: Health, Dental, and Vision CoverageA highly energetic and fast-paced environment at a growing healthcare clinicChiropractic/ Acupuncture401KGenerous Paid Time offLife InsurancePaid holidaysFitness Club Membership DiscountKeyword: Dental AssistantFrom: Petaluma Health Center IncApply now
