Description Residency Program Timeline: Clinical Academy Job Posting Close Date: 9/21/2022 Interviews with Petaluma Valley Hospital Core Nursing Leaders: 9/26 - 9/30 Job Offer Extension: 10/3 - 10/07 START DATE of CLINICAL ACADEMY: 10/31/2022 Positions available in Medical-Surgical and ICU Our Residency Program transitions new graduate nurses into practice emphasizing inter-professional, collaborative, and patient-centered care. Our comprehensive specialty curriculum includes online and classroom-based learning, clinical simulation, skills development and unit orientation with specialty trained preceptors. Our Core Fundamentals program is designed to support new graduate professional development through their first year of practice. Petaluma Valley Hospital (PVH) in Petaluma, CA . PVH has 80 licensed beds and a campus that is 14.63 acres in size. The hospital has a staff of 501 employees and professional relationships with more than 260 local physicians. PVH offers residents access to 24-hour emergency care, critical care, medical and surgical services, outpatient surgical services, a birthing center, respiratory therapy and occupational/physical therapy services, laboratory and radiology services, and pulmonary rehabilitation services. In a study completed by PacifiCare, Petaluma Valley Hospital ranked in the top 10% of Hospitals in Northern California for best practices. We have patient, staff and physician satisfaction at the height of our awareness and continually score high in all these areas. Position Commitments: Ability to work 36-40 hours per week --- 0.9 FTE or 1.0 FTE ( Shift & Hours are depending on assigned unit) Available to work 12 hour shifts Available to work any shift ( Days , Evenings , Nights ) Able to participate in all program activities throughout the 12-month period Required qualifications: Coursework/Training - Nursing degree/diploma upon hire. 1 year Acute care experience working with the patient population similar to department of hire or completion of the specialty residency located at that facility.
