Registered Nurse (RN) | Neuro ICU Location: Carmichael, CA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,618 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 4/14/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Neuro ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Experience in Neuro ICU preferred Description: The position is for a Registered Nurse in a Neuro ICU setting. This unit has a capacity of 20 beds. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:1 to 1:2. Candidates must be able to read and interpret EKG strips. Vents are part of the care provided in this unit. Hospitalists or intensivists are available in-house. Pharmacy services are available 24/7, including ICU pharmacy during the day shift. Shifts are 12 hours, starting at 6:45 PM, with bedside report. Extra shifts may be available, and self-scheduling is used. Scheduling is done 4 weeks in advance. All staff may need to float to other facilities occasionally. Orientation on the floor will be provided with a preceptor for 1-2 days. Common diagnoses include CVA, ICB, neuro surgeries, craniotomies, and ventriculostomies. Line insertions are common in this role. The unit features a strong stroke program and neuro center. Cancellations may occur up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment. The charting system used is Cerner.
