Job Description:
Description Position Summary Under the direction of Physical
Therapy Management at Dameron Hospital, the Physical Therapist is
responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and administering
Physical Therapy services in accordance with applicable federal,
state, and local regulations. This role ensures that the highest
quality of care is provided to patients at all times. The Physical
Therapist delivers direct patient care to adult and geriatric
populations, including comprehensive assessments, individualized
and group treatments, and supervision of Physical Therapy
Assistants, support staff, and students. The role also contributes
to program development, performance improvement initiatives, and
departmental policy updates. The ideal candidate will demonstrate
strong clinical judgment, effective supervisory skills, and
excellent communication across departmental lines. Professionalism,
integrity, initiative, and adherence to hospital standards of
conduct and care are essential. This is a non-union position. FTE
1.0 (5x8s) Day Qualifications Position Qualifications Acute care
experience preferred Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate or
master’s program in Physical Therapy Current and valid California
Physical Therapist license Minimum of two (2) years of relevant
experience preferred Strong verbal, written, and organizational
skills Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the
American Heart Association (AHA) Duties and Responsibilities
Provide physical therapy services according to a written
individualized plan of care Perform assessments of strength,
mobility, gait, range of motion (ROM), and transfer capabilities
Develop and implement treatment plans focused on rehabilitation and
comfort maintenance Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic
techniques and equipment use Monitor and report patients' responses
to treatment and any condition changes to the physician Participate
in interdisciplinary care planning, case conferences, and discharge
planning Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants, support staff, and
students as needed Contribute to departmental quality improvement
initiatives Maintain timely and accurate documentation of treatment
plans, progress notes, and summaries Provide patient and caregiver
consultations Support staff education and participate in in-service
training when needed
