Job Description:
Job Description RDMS LLC is a boutique bookkeeping and
consulting firm focused on the hospitality industry. As an
outsourced solution, we are proud to work with some of the best
restaurants and bars in the Bay Area and around the country. Our
team is the most important aspect to our business and we are
looking to bring on a Part Time HR position to help us take care of
them. The right individual must have previous HR experience and
assist with the administrative, clerical, and creative
responsibilities this position oversees. The managing partners of
the firm need to make sure we are up to date with onboarding and
termination procedures, accurate handbooks, and other standard HR
items --- something we anticipate this position reviewing &
implementing improvements. The right candidate, however, will also
take on the role of being the solution for aligning the company
goals with each individual---s personal development goals. Having
structure, growth capabilities, education and training
appropriately setup is vital to our success --- and we need this
position to help us maximize these opportunities. This is a part
time position and we are very open to working around someone---s
schedule and a large part of this work can be accomplished
remotely. We do want this member of the team to become familiar
with the staff, join us at team events, and be able to come on site
if there are delicate matters that need attention. The ability to
get to know the staff, work with the managing partners on
development and training plans, etc will require intimate knowledge
of our business and people --- so we are looking for someone to be
dedicated and not take this on as a ---short term project--- or
consultant. We anticipate this role being 1-2 days per week with
the opportunity to become full time as the company expands.
Examples of the overall areas of responsibility are outlined below.
Hiring Assist the Managing Partners to make the best possible
hiring decisions. Keep job descriptions up-to-date, accurate, and
compliant with relevant state and local laws for all positions
Create and update compensation strategy through market analysis and
pay surveys Manage talent acquisition process, including posting
job ads to hiring platform, screening resumes, and initial
interviews. Train the office coordinator to conduct new hire
orientation for management. Ensure all new hires have completed
orientation and signed policies and procedures Recommend and
coordinate human resources procedures/policies to administer
benefit plans, enroll employees and maintain appropriate records.
Participate and assist in annual open enrollment planning and
events. Employee Records Protect and maintain the privacy of
employee information in all personnel systems Create and maintain
new hire and personnel file, including safety and training
documentation. Manage employees' requests for accommodations and
requests for availability leave programs or short-term disability
Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable
human resource federal and state requirements Firing Assist in the
termination process, including reviewing personnel files,
facilitating manager and employee discussions, performing exit
interviews, and completing necessary documentation. Goal Setting /
Training Implement creative solutions to understand staff personal
goals and find opportunities to align with corporate development
Conduct interviews, surveys, etc. to see how company culture can be
improved Working with office coordinator, find opportunities for
additional education, training, and staff appreciation Coordinate
quarterly / annual reviews around staff level goals and development
plans to keep improvement constant General HR Apply updated / new
company policies across all personnel and correcting problems as
needed Update and implement HR policies throughout the organization
Advise and assist management in appropriate resolution of employee
relations issues. Respond to inquiries regarding HR policies,
procedures and/or programs. Requirements: Broad experience in HR
functional areas including benefits administration, employee
relations, policy development, performance management, talent
development, employee engagement, and federal/state/local
employment laws & regulation. At least 5 years of experience in the
field or a related area Proven knowledge and understanding of CA
Workers Compensation system, FMLA and employment laws Excellent
time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work
Demonstrated analytical thinking, problem-solving, and
decision-making skills Excellent written and verbal communication
skills Proficient in MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in
particular) Strong computer skills and ability to learn to
effectively operate any company software - with training.
Bachelor---s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or
related field preferred. Ability to handle sensitive and
confidential information appropriately. Benefits We offer a
