Job Description:

The Software Engineer 3 is a member of a multi-disciplinary Product Development team consisting of software, electrical, mechanical and verification engineers, Product Line Managers and Manufacturing specialists. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work as a member of a Global team defining and developing the software architectures for the industry's most advanced Next Generation Home Automation systems and Wireless IoT platforms. Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform a variety of software engineering tasks, both conceptual and hands-on. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is extended.
• Responsible for assisting interpreting product requirements from product management into functional design specifications for engineering and scheduling. Will be involved in the implementation into the final product.
• Contributes to definition of the hardware architectures. Will participate in hardware/software design reviews.
• Responsible for software design and implementation, covering the entire development lifecycle from inception through production.
• Support the QA test team's methodologies for product release, and design for testability for factory production
• Provides ongoing support as needed for released products
• Execute all work according to the established procedures of the organization Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
  • A BS in Computer Science or a related technical field is required, with a minimum of 3-4 years of experience in Embedded Software design and development.
  • Demonstrable proficiency in C/C++ software design.
  • The candidate is expected to be familiar skills necessary for embedded development such as C, version control (SVN and git) and defect tracking tools.
  • Familiar with MCU and SOC architectures.
  • RTOS competency required; Linux and Android systems level experience is highly desirable.
  • Highly desirable to have a solid understanding and practical experience with Networking communication, Ethernet and wireless TCP/IP and UDP.
  • Wireless communications (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, ZigBee, Z-Wave) is a plus.
