Come join our growing benefits team as a Benefits & Wellness
Specialist! The Benefits & Wellness Specialist primary focus is to
strengthen the overall employee and HR experience of our benefit
programs. If supporting the company's health and welfare benefit

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other
duties may be assigned.
Health and Welfare Benefits
Lead and/or support the implementation of all new health, welfare
and retirement benefit programs.
Lead the day-to-day management and administration for all health
and wellness programs nationally, including the Open Enrollment
process. Provide direction and/pr delegate as necessary to the
Benefits and Wellness Coordinator. Handle escalated and/or complex
issues. Programs include, but are not limited to, medical, dental,
vision, life, AD&D, short-term and long-term disability,
401(k), employee assistance program, onsite health centers,
etc.
Partner with the Compensation and Benefits Manager to maintain the
benefit orientation programs and other benefit communications
materials.
Monitor all benefit plans and processes to identify opportunities
for improvement.
Research possible solutions and make recommendations for changes
and/or enhancements, competitive changes, etc. to the existing
benefits programs and processes.
Plan and lead the monthly benefits team meeting and reconcile
meeting minutes.
Maintain the monthly Health and Welfare fulfillment process and
eConsent program according to ERISA and Amy's guidelines.
Manage all benefit related Amy's Benefits inboxes, including
recurring emails and reports, and assigning action items to team
members.
Conduct benefit related audits following Amy's guidelines, and/or
as determined necessary.
Participate in meetings with various benefit vendors and help to
facilitate programs and events.
Supervise the recurring benefits bill reconciliation for
self-billing plans, including supporting the Benefits and Wellness
Coordinator.
Handle escalated issues from the Benefits Helpdesk and/or the team.
Provide backup support for the Benefits Helpdesk as needed.
Primary contact, and adviser to HR managers and team members for
all benefit and wellness related matters.
Retirement Benefits
Support the Compensation and Benefits Manager with the daily
administration for the Amy's Kitchen 401(k) Retirement Plan.
Support the annual 401(k) audit, which includes obtaining
documentation and records as needed for the auditors.
Support the Compensation and Benefits Manager in preparing for
Retirement Plan Oversight/Advisory Committee meetings.
Absence Management
Liaison with absence management partner.
Effectively and accurately interpret leave programs and policies in
accordance with applicable federal and state laws (FMLA, ADA,
USERRA, PDL, OFLA, etc.).
Act as the primary contact, and advise HR managers and team
members, with all absence management questions.
I think we can say we will help, but they need to back themselves
up if possible. Manage absence approval workflows, and absence
reports.
Wellness
Develop, lead, implement and/or support new initiatives.
In partnership with our Amy's Family Health Center partner and with
our HR Teams support the communication process and facilitate
wellness programs and events.
Participate in the Whole Health Council for each location with the
Compensation and Benefits Manager.
Strive to make current programs and any new programs engaging and
meaningful to employees.
Other
Always deliver best-in-class customer service to internal and
external customers, with an emphasis on being responsive,
professional, and accurate.
Maintain compliance with federal, state, local regulations, and
company policies and procedures concerning benefits. This includes,
but is not limited to, ERISA, DOL, IRS, ACA.
It is the responsibility of all employees to uphold the mission of
the Amy's Food Safety and Quality Policy. This includes following
all Food Safety and Sustainability programs and participating in
all required training.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no direct reports.
Education
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or
equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS), HR Certificate, PHR
or SHRM-CP, preferred
Experience
3-5 years of benefits experience
A minimum of one year of leadership experience (e.g. direct report,
project leadership, team leadership, etc.)
Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws.
Experience with a HRMS required.
Fluent in English and Spanish strongly preferred.
Skills
Ability to work in a cross-functional role.
Leadership skills (organizing team members to reach a shared
goal)
Outstanding customer service skills and ability to work with people
of diverse educational, ethnic, and economic backgrounds.
Strong organizational and time management skills, proven attention
to detail, sense of urgency, excellent follow-through, ability to
successfully handle multiple priorities concurrently, and ability
to handle sensitive information with the strictest of
confidentiality are required skills and attributes of this
position.
Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills, be
able to work in a deadline-oriented environment and be able to work
effectively alone and as part of a team.
Must have solid Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet
navigation skills.
TRAVEL
Some minimal travel may be required to other Amy's locations.
