Leadership role in manufacturing responsible for training, mentoring, coaching, ensuring compliance with safety standards, problem solving, writing performance appraisals monitoring performance (quality and quantity), and assigning daily tasks (scheduling/planning) for employees in the department. Leads are also expected to perform a variety of general labor tasks including but not limited to visual inspection, measurement, gauging, stacking, deburring, sanding, lifting and moving materials, assisting in the operation of machinery and equipment, and other activities in a helping or assisting mode.#CB

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Serve as a positive role model for work ethic, leadership, and quality
• Understand and be able to train operators to specific verbal or written instructions and standard operating practices to perform operations at assigned area (molding) Complete training checklists for new hires and ongoing assessment for existing employees. Provide feedback and training to employees as needed. Work with production supervisor to complete training of operators.
• Possess the ability to provide peer-to-peer verbal and/or written feedback as needed in coaching and/or disciplinary situations with employees, including but not limited to day-to-day and/or annually.
• Work to meet departmental schedule and communicate with the planners/schedulers and supervisors to resolve issues.
• Ability to swiftly and accurately respond to equipment alarms.
• Ensure operators are following all company policies and procedures
• Ensure operators are following all company Quality Procedures Communicate instructions, plans, and concepts to department personnel
• Coordinate activities between departments
• Provide feedback/suggestions for improvement on work instructions and processes
• Write work instructions for engineering approval
• Monitor Time off Requests, scheduling and attendance for their department reporting any issues to HR and their immediate Supervisors.
• Fill in as Lead in other departments as needed based on business needs
• Recognize variations from proper equipment/machine performance and perform initial troubleshooting tasks before seeking corrective assistance
• Recognize trends in data (run charts, distribution charts, etc.) that indicate product quality concerns and perform initial troubleshooting tasks before seeking corrective assistance
• Maintain accurate records and logs as required
• Accurate data entry in to company ERP system
• Train operators on inspection microscope for visual inspection, micrometer and caliper for product measurement to ensure they meet quality requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Leadership and/or training experience
• Good Mathematic, mechanical, communication skills
• Knowledge of various tools, equipment and materials used in production
• Minimum 2-year experience in manufacturing environment or equivalent experience
• Acute attention to detail
