ABRAMS also distributes books for Booth-Clibborn Editions, Bungie, Alain Ducasse --dition, --ditions de La Martini--re, Editions BPI, Global Golf Group, Lucky Spool, Milky Way Picture Books, The Museum of Modern Art, SelfMadeHero, Tate Publishing, V&A Publishing, and The Vendome Press.What you'll be doing -Provide administrative assistance and editorial support to the Cameron Kids Publishing Director and Editor at LargeYou will be responsible for--- - --- - - - - - -Editorial tasks include: copyediting, proofreading, assisting with reviewing/editing/marking/routing manuscripts, galleys, and proofs; P&L's and presentation materials --- - - - - - -Act as liaison with authors, agents, packagers, and other outside contacts --- - - - - - -Draft fact sheet, catalogue, P&L, and final text copy (including flap copy) for books --- - - - - - -Gather materials and create PowerPoint presentations for editorial boards, launches and sales conferences, as needed --- - - - - - -Act as point person for select titles each season, including corresponding with the originating publisher or author and agent, receiving, reviewing, and routing manuscripts, galleys, and proofs --- - - - - - -Help assess proposals; assist with research and development, and securing necessary permissions for new projects --- - - - - - -Organize, plan, and act as support staff for events, including launch and author book signings --- - - - - - -Respond to book submissions and inquiries, as needed --- - - - - - -Submit book announcements to Publishers Weekly, as needed --- - - - - - -Clerical tasks include: taking minutes at meetings, maintaining schedules and databases, sending advances, foreign editions, and author copies, etc. -What skills & experience you'll bring to us? - --- - - - - - -Bachelor's degree preferred --- - - - - - -1 - 2 years publishing and/or office experience; kids book experience ideal --- - - - - - -Position requires accuracy, careful attention to detail and the ability to work independently and follow through consistently --- - - - - - -Excellent grammar, spelling, copyediting, and proofreading skills. Strong communication and writing skills. Pleasant telephone manner is essential. --- - - - - - -Must be highly organized, energetic, and able to juggle multiple priorities efficiently and calmly --- - - - - - -Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as Adobe. Ability to create and maintain publisher databases.
