Job Description:
Description:The purpose of this role is to help the logistics
team as we build automation into our processes. It's expected to
take 6 months but may be longer. Scope: The Import Logistics
Specialists assist the Logistics Department in coordinating and
aligning inbound supply chain data, systems, processes and
reporting to maintain transparent and accurate data in our Netsuite
ERP system. This role will ensure all purchase order data and
logistics tracking data is maintained in our ERP and offline
tracking systems to reflect accurate milestone dates from order
placement through receipt, including inbound freight invoice
auditing and approval. We are looking for a highly competent, data
driven individual who in comfortable using large amounts of data to
build and manage exception based reports and KPI's to manage the
inbound supply chain (primarily from Asia based outsourced
factories). This position will also provide general data,
analytical and project support for the logistics department from
time to time.Responsibilities:
- Responsible for conducting analysis and creating reports of
weekly and monthly KPIs and forecasts for cost modeling, freight
tracking, vessel schedule tracking, and drayage/ground
transportation.
- Responsible for auditing ocean and domestic freight invoices,
including transportation accessorial charges by carrier and
customer.
- Audit and correct freight settlement documents and/or
invoices
- Support vendor/ 3PL business partner relationships by
coordinating and responding to questions related to ocean freight,
freight tracking, or order management related questions.
- Help the logistics department with general support, project
management (rework), or shipping/receiving activities as business
conditions require.
- Tracks and monitors scheduled payments to suppliers and works
with accounting to ensure timely and accurate payments are
processed on-time.
- Support in the creation and assist in compiling the responses
of the annual ocean freight RFQ to identify best in class rates and
service providers; and assist in onboarding the
carriers/forwarders.Qualifications:
- Minimum of bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 1-3 years experience using ERP systems, and knowledge of supply
chain, logistics, and ocean freight operational processes, a
plus
- Collaborative and self-motivated, able to perform multiple
tasks independently.
- Self-starter, organized and detail oriented; capable of
executing data intensive tasks accurately, in a fast paced and
dynamic work environment, while meeting deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to accurately communicate findings, make
recommendations, and facilitate change.
- Comfortable working with individuals at all organizational
levels.
- Strong analytical mind with problem-solving aptitudes and
project management skills.
- Experience in data mining, analysis, and reporting of logistics
milestone data a plus.
- Technical skills: Advanced Excel skills - fluency in pivot
tables required. ERP experience with NetSuite experience a
plus.
- Working knowledge of EDI interfaces and documents a
